Title: Enhancing Care for Sickle Cell Disease: Addressing Physician Awareness, Access, and Policy to Eliminate Stereotypes

Description: This project aims to improve care outcomes for patients with sickle cell disease by addressing key areas of concern. It will assess and enhance physician awareness and training regarding sickle cell disease, explore strategies to improve access to specialized care, and develop policy recommendations to eliminate stereotypes and improve support for patients. The project seeks to create a comprehensive approach that addresses the multifaceted challenges faced by patients with sickle cell disease, ultimately aiming to improve their quality of life and care outcomes.

To refine my topic and target audience, I am considering the following:

1.    Target Audience: Hospital CEOs, medical directors, and policymakers involved in healthcare administration and policymaking.

2.    Specific Objectives:

·       Assessing current physician awareness and training regarding sickle cell disease.

·       Developing and implementing an educational program to enhance physician knowledge and awareness.

·       Identifying barriers to access to specialized care for patients with sickle cell disease.

·       Developing policy recommendations to eliminate stereotypes and improve support for patients.

3.    Project Impact:

·       Improved physician awareness and knowledge leading to better care outcomes.

·       Enhanced access to specialized care for patients with sickle cell disease.

·       Policy changes that eliminate stereotypes and improve support for patients.

4.    Measurable Outcomes:

·       Increase in physician participation in the educational program.

·       Improvement in patient satisfaction surveys regarding care received.

·       Number of policy recommendations implemented.

By addressing these aspects, I aim to create a focused and impactful capstone project that can make a significant difference in the care and support provided to patients with sickle cell disease.

I look forward to collaborating with all of you as we complete our Master of Healthcare Administration degree and work towards achieving our career goals. Thank you.
