Science Article Review Assignment Instructions

Overview

You will complete two Science Article Reviews designed to acquaint yourself with teacher-oriented literature in science education. An article review is a short paper focused on critical reading and analysis of one peer-reviewed scholarly article.

Instructions

Completion of and topics of the two article reviews are as follows:

Module 1: Week 1

Science Article Review: Professional Development Assignment

Module 3: Week 3

Science Article Review: Science Education Assignment

For each of these article reviews, choose a different peer-reviewed journal article related to the topic noted, dated within the last five years. If you need help finding a peer-reviewed journal article, view the Jerry Falwell Library
Finding Peer-Reviewed & Scholarly Articles tutorial provided with this assignment.

After thoroughly reading the article, prepare a 2-3-page paper that includes a summary and a reaction. Each review must include a title page and references page and must be in current APA format. Refer to the Science Article Review Grading Rubric for grading criteria.

Use headings to divide your literature review into two sections:

1. Summary: Main points of the article are summarized in at least one page. The summary should contain the name of the article in the introduction, with a citation. You will then identify the main idea of the article and summarize the most important information, concepts, and facts contained in the article.

2. Reflection: The reflection page contains well-thought-through ideas about the importance of the article to science education and a discussion of how to apply article content to teaching science.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
