Week 8 DisCUSsion 1: The Impact of Industrial Psychology in the Workplace

In this Discussion, you will explore how specific principles, models, and/or theories related to selection, assessment, training, and performance evaluation have contributed to improvements in the practice of industrial psychology. Then, in your response to your peers, you will examine limitations of the principles, models, and/or theories they discussed.

To Prepare

· Reflect on what you learned about industrial psychology in Weeks 2–4. Focus on principles, models, and/or theories related to industrial psychology.

· Select two principles, models, and/or theories related to industrial psychology (i.e., assessment, selection, job analysis, training, performance evaluation).

· Think about how each principle, model, and/or theory has contributed to improvements in the practice of industrial psychology (i.e., what problems do they resolve and what barriers do they overcome).
