1. If I am worried about stake holders that might present the biggest potential problems for the project, I would try the Stakeholder register because this document shows and explains who the individuals are and what type of power they hold over the project. It is smart to keep on the look out and have knowledge of the type of influence they have over anyone else because if certain stakeholders do not have the same interest or they do not like what is going on they have the power to either delay or stop the project and that can cause a lot of problems. Secondly, I would use the Communications plan to identify who is becoming a problem or has the potential to become a problem. This document shows where the stakeholders’ interests are as well as who is receiving proper communication as they would like. Some stakeholders like to be super aware of what is going on when it comes to the planning, production or taking care of the risks. We do not want any stakeholders to feel like they are not part of the project because if there is an individual that is unhappy and they have high amount of influence, this can cause lots of problems. This is part also of the Risk register. Communication is key and there has to be transparency in order to make the project work. There are probably some areas that need to be negotiated in order for everyone to compromise and have a positive outcome where everyone can be on the same level. Giving constant updates and everyone can speak on what is important to them and how they can make everything work together. The issue log is where you can document all the topics that are in question, and they can all be handled in a timely fashion with a proactive resolution between the whole team.

2. Balancing the structure of the Marine Corps with the unpredictability of new motherhood has taught me a lot about managing people and expectations. When working on a project, the first two documents I’d go to are the Stakeholder Register and Communications Plan. The register helps me figure out who’s involved, what matters to them, and who might slow things down kind of like figuring out team dynamics before assigning responsibilities. The Communications Plan is just as important because if people aren’t being heard or kept in the loop, issues grow quickly.

To stay ahead of problems, I’d also lean on the Issue Log and Change Log. The Issue Log shows me if someone keeps raising concerns or pushing back, which is often a sign they need more support or clarity. The Change Log helps track how requests are affecting the overall project. It’s a good way to stay grounded in facts, especially when tensions rise. For me, staying organized and proactive isn’t just a work habit it’s survival, both at home and in uniform.
