Note
:
This document is just for your reference and to support your success with the assignment.

You do not need to turn it in.

Goal:
Create a 6–9-minute podcast on a contemporary topic in psychology.

·
You’ll be recording an audio file
and creating a separate reference list to share as your deliverable.

·
You can orally provide ‘in-text’ citations while speaking.

·
Use this preparation guide to help prepare a script.

·
Practice the script a few times before you record yourself.

·
Aim for a prepared, confident, and natural tone.

·
Be sure that your podcast fits the timeframe (6-9 minutes).

·
Be sure that your voice comes through clearly on the recording.

Script:
Fill in the boxes below to prepare your script.

· Begin your podcast by introducing yourself and then jump in:

· Explain how the older school of thought influences the present-day field of psychology and specifically your contemporary topic of interest. (suggested time: 1-2 minutes)

· Include at least one theorist name within this discussion!

· Explain how one of the timeless debates from the Geher (2021) source from Week 9 fits with the contemporary topic of interest. (suggested time: 1 minute)

· Explain other historical events or movements that may have inspired interest in this topic area. (suggested time: 1 minute)

· Explain how this new school of thought may guide social thinking in the future. (suggested time: 1 minute)

· Create a plan for how you (and others) can help
be the change in the future to improve the human experience in this contemporary area of psychology. (suggested time: 1-2 minutes)

· Consider individual, community, and global scales.
