As you begin exploring the history of I/O psychology, you will see that it serves several purposes. First, it will provide an understanding of how contemporary theories and practices came to be. Second, it will also provide insight into mistakes that were made and should be avoided in the future. Third, it will help you understand how economic, social, and political factors have shaped and will continue to shape the discipline.

· Reflect on one historical development you think has impacted contemporary practice the most, and consider how and why.

INSTRUCTIONS: Responsd to the following:

· Differentiate between industrial psychology and organizational psychology.

· Describe one historical development from the field of I/O psychology that you believe has significantly impacted its contemporary practice, including the theories/theorists associated with its historical development.

· Explain how and why this historical development has impacted the contemporary practice of I/O psychology.
