Follow these instructions if you write an essay on this module’s topic.
This essay must be written in two parts (see the Course Outline). After reading the module content and the textbook chapter, summarize the arguments and main points from either the module or the textbook, but not both (about 200 to 250 words).
Your analytical section must use the concepts, ideas, or issues found in the course material to answer the following questions insightfully:
- What is globalization? Do not just provide a definition; instead, discuss the issue of periodization and how those periods change how globalization is analyzed in the current context.
- What are the contested issues associated with globalization? For example, examine the significance of Steger’s dimensions for understanding globalization. Explain why these distinctions matter when it comes to understanding globalization.

Additional Information for Completing the Assignment
The Module 8 Assignment must fall within the 900 to 1,000-word limit and be double-spaced using Aptos 11-point font and 2.5 cm margins. If you use references, including your textbook, cite them using APA format. Go to MacEwan University Library’s Citation Guide for information on using APA. Students must provide the word count for each assignment in the course.
