Instead of taking a quiz for this video you will instead answer a discussion question.  You will find the video in the Films On Demand link through the library resources (Same as with the Hitler’s Rise discussion).

The title of the film is “Auschwitz: Blueprint for Genocide”  the video is just over 45 minutes in length.  It could also help to read Jews in Nazi Germany which can be found in the Reading Module on the Home page.

Once you have watched the film, think about the length that the Nazis went through to create a system of organized, mechanical killing.

Choose two of the following questions to answer in your discussion.

In your opinion, what was the worst aspect of the life of an Auschwitz inmate?

What would your reaction be if you were a German civilian living near Auschwitz and knew of the activities there?

How does a concentration camp differ from an extermination camp?

What conditions existed that allowed people to inflict such cruelty?

How did the Nazi Party convince the German people to hate and eventually allow the killing of 6,000,000 Jewish people and 5,000,000 non-Jewish people?

Remember that each discussion post should have an original post and 2 responses to other student’s original posts, and posts should be approximately 250-300 words each.
