Perinatal Mental Health: Education and Prevention

PICO question: In perinatal patients, does tailored education on perinatal mental health disorders reduce the number of patients who need to return to their provider for mental health intervention compared to the perinatal patients that don’t receive this education?

1) Find a total of 6 articles that are relevant to solving the problem in your PICO question.

When looking for a research article use PubMed (MedLine) website, the research has be qualify.

  • 1 of them original article should be Quantitative
  • 1 of them original article should be Qualitative
  • 2 of the articles can be of your choice so long as they are original research, so they could be quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods
  • Only 1 of the 6 articles should be a published review article
  • Only 1 of the 6 articles should be gray literature

After finding the articles do the second part

I have attached an image about the second part

  • Literature Review Matrix
    • Use the provided table to describe your 4 selected original research articles that collected their own data (do NOT use the review or gray literature articles in the matrix). This table is available on Canvas as a Word document. Obviously, when filling out the matrix, don’t copy information from the article; it must be in your own words so you don’t plagiarize.
    • You will likely need at least a half page to do justice to an article using the provided table.  However, do not write more than 1 page per article.
    • This section should be 10 point Times New Roman Font, single spaced.
  • Annotated Bibliography  (NOTE: Every term a few students skip this and lose a lot of points; make sure to do this section!)
    • After the table, include a page with the full references of all 6 articles you selected in APA 7th Ed. format.  Under each of them, provide annotation for your reference that explains the key elements of the study in paragraph form.  These key elements include: 1) What was being addressed in the paper, the population or data source including sample size (this may not be available for gray literature or narrative reviews), what type of data was collected (this may not be available for gray literature or narrative reviews), the key results/finding/insights of the study connected in with their importance to the PICO question.
    • An example has been provided, and for other examples of annotated bibliographies, here is a link.Links to an external site.
    • The annotated bibliography for each paper should not be more than a half page of text.
    • This section should be 11 point Times New Roman font, double spaced.
