Paralysis by analysis:

While the attribution for this phrase may be a bit off, understanding how much data is
enough to reflect upon, respond to, or cause someone to sound the alarm is critical. The
coaching process is more personal and can support the small changes that result in the
biggest changes if done well.

You are not creating a strategic plan, but your coaching efforts could initiate a shift for all
the students impacted by a single teacher, or even a whole grade level if the shift is
shared with others. How much data do you need to identify which teachers might benefit
the most from participating in the coaching process?

Reflect on an initiative, goal, or directive in your setting, then evaluate the student
outcome data that is the focus of the goal. Describe how you could disaggregate the
student outcome data and evaluate which teacher(s) could have the biggest impact on
the students of greatest concern. How could you propose Instructional Coaching as a
support for those teachers and how would the offer of Instructional Coaching be
received by those same teachers?
