Contextual information: This project aims to equip students with advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting sports data using data analytics techniques.

Students will select a Paper among the ones informed below (or a new one, as long as you send it to me first) and the Delloitte Financial Report to produce

insights through comprehensive analysis. The focus will be on understanding the application and use of data analytics in sports.

Task description: As the newly appointed Business Data Analyst for a sports organization, and the organization made you responsible for a new data

analysis project, this project focuses on conducting an in-depth analysis of a football club featured in the Deloitte Football Money League 2024. The goal

is to explore the club’s financial health, evaluate its sports performance, and analyze the applicability of sports management strategies outlined in a

selected academic paper. This analysis will culminate in actionable recommendations to improve the club’s management, financial stability, and on-field

results over the next five seasons.

Task deliverables:

1) Choose a club featured in the featured in the Deloitte Football Money League 2024

2) Analyze the club’s financial health by incorporating data from the Deloitte Football Money League 2024

3) Choose one of the papers below:

b. Identification of Game Periods and Playing Position Activity Profiles in Elite-Level Beach Soccer Players Through Principal Component Analysis

c. Diagnostic Applications of AI in Sports: A Comprehensive Review of Injury Risk Prediction Methods

4) Produce a report analyzing the financial, sportive results and the possible applications of the chosen paper into the club’s management practices.
