Choose two questions to answer. Be sure to cite sources/facts/statistics/information, and use headings to separate your ideas. 

  1. What, if anything is unique about the transnational crime and illicit goods issues policy makers face in regards to Central and South America? Define terms and provide examples.
  2. Is illicit goods smuggling (not human smuggling) a victimless crime? Why or why not? Define terms and provide examples.
  3. Why do some states become source states, others become transit states, and some become user states? Do these reasons overlap with the differences between developed and underdeveloped economies? Why or why not? Define terms and provide examples.

Technical Requirements:

  • Each answer should be 3-4 pages each. Your paper must be a minimum of 6-8 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
  • Scholarly and credible references should be used. At least 6 scholarly sources are required to be used for this assignment.
  • Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
  • Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
  • Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.
  • All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.
