HISTORY OF THE FOUR WAY TEST
The Four-Way Test was conceived by Herbert J. Taylor, a Chicago
.and president of
in 1954-55.

He applied The Four-Way Test to the operation of his company with remarkable results and subsequently shared it with others.

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

The Assignment:

Ethics and ethical practices, as applied and considered in an organizational setting are customarily included in such expanded ideas as:

· Principles

· Ideals

· Conduct

· Honesty

· Honor

· Integrity, and

· Values.

Access the company website (or any other publicly available resource) of the organization you selected in Week 3
(APPLE) and research their ethics and ethical practices. If your company does not publish its ethical practices, please identify another company of interest that does.

Create a 2 to 3-page Microsoft Word memo and provide the following:

1. Explain why ethical practices are still important in a digital leadership setting, especially today in the 21st century.

2. Discuss the ethical practices of the company you selected in Week 3. What is written about the organization in the popular press? What is written about them in the academic press? Be sure to include, as appropriate, some mention of the above referenced Four-Way Test.

3. Discuss the ethical practices of one of the selected companies below: (Consider what is included in the popular press.)

4. Compare and contrast the company you selected in Week 3
