Public health is important work for the health of populations now and in the future. The public health system is wrought with challenges. The need for public health care, services, and programs continues to grow as the population ages, new infectious diseases appear, old infectious diseases reappear, the public health workforce declines, and the need for funding continues. These are just a few of the challenges faced in public health today. In this discussion, please address these topics:
