The objective of this individual activity is for students to practice how to properly observe a restaurant’s service, flow, cleanliness, leadership, employees, and the restaurant building and facility.

Choose a restaurant you would like to observe and follow the guidelines and grading rubric below.

Guidelines and Deliverables

  1. Select a restaurant you would like to dine in.

  3. Deliverable 1: Fill out the form and include notes for each area of scoring, explaining why the restaurant received this score (even if you gave the restaurant the highest possible score).
  4. Deliverable 2: At the end of the observation form, include a summary of two to three paragraphs explaining your overall experience, your recommendations for improvement, and a SWOT analysis for the restaurant.
  5. Professional writing is expected, using Times New Roman 12 point font, and your form should be free of spelling and grammar errors.
