This is the first short response paper based on a peer-reviewed journal article (2010-2021)

Instructions

· Search for articles on attachment and substance use disorders

Areas to cover in your paper:

This 3-4-page paper (not including cover page and reference page) will address how the peer-reviewed journal article aligns with the course content.

· Summarize the peer-reviewed journal article 

· Connect the peer-reviewed journal article to at least 3 course materials (book chapter, article, website, videos)  

· Explain how the peer-reviewed journal article aligns with the course material to include assessment and screening

· Discuss how the peer-reviewed journal article adds to or contrasts with the course material

· Describe some take-aways that will be beneficial to you as a social worker

Be sure to adhere to APA throughout your paper. APA Manual, 7th edition: see pp. 61-67 and format your paper based on the sample student paper

Writing Tips

· Do not write in the first person

· Do not (don’t) use contractions

· Type in Times New Roman, 12-point font

· Write in complete sentences

· Double-space throughout the paper including cover page and reference page

· Use headings and subheadings

· A paragraph typically consists of at least 5 sentences

· Reference accordingly throughout the paper and include them on the reference page

· Use quotation marks when quoting and include appropriate referencing with page number

· Try to paraphrase rather than directly quoting

· Format cover page correctly

· Format reference page correctly

· Look at the student paper on pp. 61-67 of the APA Manual, 7th edition and follow the layout

· Page 1 begins on the cover page

· Running head is no longer required

· Proof read your work and/or have someone else read it
