You are the newly appointed President’s Homeland Security Advisor for a new administration. You have spent the last 15 years as a senior non-political member (Senior Executive Service) of the Department of Homeland Security. Write a White Paper that assesses the state of national resilience as an element of homeland security.

  4. Include what strategies are in place, where you believe the gaps are, and how they should be addressed.
  5. Your paper can focus on specific elements, if desired, such as transportation, banking, energy, and even the impact of COVID on national resilience.

Submission Guidelines

  • Your paper must be at a MAXIMUM of 3-5 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum requirement).
  • Scholarly and credible references should be used. At least 6 scholarly articles are required for this assignment.
  • Scholarly sources include peer-reviewed articles, government publications, and academic texts.
  • Type in Times New Roman, 12 point, and double space.
  • Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
  • Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic-type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.
  • Use the Template that is provided to develop this assignment.
  • All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.
