Manages an inquiry database of potential GROWWTH Participants while keeping accurate records of contacts, attempts and appointments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides high-level customer service to assigned participants to ensure they are contacted and enrolled in a timely manner. Able to communicate effectively with people from various backgrounds.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures that all participant updates are recorded in the case management system on the same day in accordance with program regulations and procedures. Completed enrollment of participants in accordance to program policies and eligibility guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Engage in community engagement and recruitment activities. Ensures program inquiries are contacted and complete intake procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrates self-management techniques to participants such as active listening, coping techniques, advocacy, and self-help strategies with a focus on helping residents to prepare for employment that leads to self-sufficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned.

Excellent skills in problem solving and resource identification.

Additional Position Information

Growing Relational and Occupational Wealth in West Tennessee Households (GROWWTH) is a community partnership led by the University of Memphis that will work to eliminate key barriers to self-sufficiency for low-income wage earners in the West Tennessee region. GROWWTH has developed plans to improve family access to needed resources for economic mobility, implement a holistic approach to improving the personal and professional well-being of families, strengthen the existing system through partner resources and inspire families to appreciate the value of growth and lifelong learning.

This is a grant funded position contingent upon fund availability.

Minimum Position Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent and two (2) years of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for required education.

Must have Valid Driver’s License

Special Conditions

The department is especially interested in candidates that have:
Previous experience working with low-income families.
Understanding and awareness of the needs of disadvantaged individuals and other persons who face barriers to employment (WIOA, TANF, SNAP, Youth).
Candidates with active listening, respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries, resilience, patience and humility, a non-judgmental approach, and genuine interest in helping others.

Limited travel throughout region and proof of valid driver’s license in good standing and automobile insurance is required.
