Buckley

Dyspnea—-It means having trouble breathing. For example, someone with asthma may struggle to catch their breath during an attack.

Apnea———This is when breathing stops temporarily, often during sleep. People with sleep apnea might stop breathing for short periods while they sleep, which can affect their rest.

Orthopnea——-This is difficulty breathing when lying flat. It’s common in conditions like heart failure. Someone with orthopnea may find it easier to breathe when sitting up.

Sympathetic————When the body is stressed or active, the sympathetic system helps by opening up the airways so we can breathe more easily.

Parasympathetic ———-This system works to relax the body. In the respiratory system, it can narrow the airways which slows down our breathing and helps us relax.

Possible Cause, Danger, and Next Steps for Cherry Red Complexion

1. Possible Cause: The symptoms—severe headaches, confusion, and a cherry red complexion—suggest carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. CO is a gas that you can’t smell or see, and it’s found in fumes from burning fuel like gas, oil, or wood.

2. CO: poisoning is dangerous because it stops oxygen from getting to your body’s organs. This can cause serious harm and even death if not treated quickly.

3. Get your son and daughter outside into fresh air right away to reduce their exposure. Call emergency services (911) for help. They need medical attention to check how much CO they were exposed to and get treatment, usually with oxygen therapy.

It’s important to have CO detectors at home and in places like cars to prevent CO poisoning.
