ACTION PLAN ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this assignment is to help you gain experience with a realistic topic/issue in your
current position or in a future position you hope to obtain. Use the same topic as your Research
Paper Assignment and identify how you will address the problem in your current position or a
future position you hope to obtain.

INSTRUCTIONS

Using the provided Action Plan Template, write a brief overview of the topic in one paragraph
(at least 4-5 sentences) as an introduction to the plan to demonstrate the significance of the
problem and the need for the plan.

Create a written action plan to address the issue in your school or district. An action plan
includes specific steps that you would use to pursue the resolution of the issue in your district.
Collaborate with others (such as the field expert from your Field Expert Interview
Assignment) to determine an appropriate plan to address the issue. Include the following in your
plan:

1. The specific action to be taken
2. The timeline for that action
3. The persons responsible for the action
4. The resources needed (financial) for the action

Use search databases such as Academic Search Complete, ERIC, and Education Research
Complete to locate the sources for this assignment.

Please refer to the Action Plan Grading Rubric for more information on the expectations for this
