PART 1 – MY BELIEFS: According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, ethics is defined as “moral principles that govern a person’s or group’s behavior.” Therefore, in an ideal world, ethics should play the ultimate role when making a decision. If ethics are the principles which guides one’s behavior then, ideally, all decisions should be made entirely based on ethics. Unfortunately, such is not always the case. LIST THREE (3) PERSONAL ETHICAL VALUES you hold and give at least 2 reasons why those values are important to you.

PART 2 – EXAMPLES OF ETHICAL/UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR (30 pts): Many believe our ethics are not taught, but “caught,” meaning what we accept as ethical or unethical depends on who we look up to, or who we hang around.  Give an example of ONE PERSON YOU VIEW AS ETHICAL and ONE PERSON YOU VIEW AS UNETHICAL.  This can be a family member, someone you’ve worked with in your past work experiences, a politician, or an entertainer. For both examples, state examples of behaviors (at least 2) that prove why you view this person that way.

PART 3 – ONE QUESTION (5 pts): Answer the following question and provide brief reasoning – Considering the mental impact of social media on society, especially children, should a parent be legally responsible for the social media behavior of their children? (e.g. – if a teenager cyber bullies another teenager to commit suicide, should the parents of the bullying teenager be held accountable as well?)
