This discussion asks you to go and listen to your choice of stories, below, and then post your comments on how you see the story relating to our study and practice of interpersonal communication.

In your post, tell us

  1. Story: Which story you listened to? David Chang or Empathy Gym
  2. Think/Feel: What did you think, or feel – or both,  while you listened?
    This is a self-report of what you noticed you experienced as you were decoding the message as a receiver. I’m asking you to show that you are able to self-monitor and be aware of your own intrapersonal communication. Notice that there are no requirements to link this response to class. Just be aware and report. (1-2 sentences)
  3. Connections: What two connections you can make to interpersonal communication?
    This is where you get to link up what happened in the story you selected and what you have learned in class so far (OR you can even link it to chapters or concepts we haven’t covered yet). Follow this format:

    • Noticed: What I noticed from the story I listened to: (1-2 sentences)
    • IPC Connection: How I think what I noticed connects to interpersonal communication: (1-2 sentences).

It will make it easier to follow the posts in your group if everybody uses the same format. Something like this:
